Scenarios can range from yielding reactions that are mild to reactions that are intense.<\/p>\n<p>Examples include, the feeling evoked when:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>you are woken up 10 minutes early (mild)<\/li>\n<li>you know someone is lying to you (moderate)<\/li>\n<li>you feel abused or attacked (intense)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>By sharing perceptions of language associated with the various steps along the anger continuum, client and counsellor avoid misunderstandings generated through assumptions and thus become better positioned to engage in a mutually understood dialogue.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2944\" src=\"http:\/\/www.counsellingconnection.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/anger-thermometer1.gif\" alt=\"anger-thermometer\" width=\"610\" height=\"922\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The anger thermometer can be used in counselling as a mechanism for discussing various anger-provoking scenarios and establishing the label befitting the feeling evoked.
