Counselling Connection

Quick Update

Hello there!

Just passing by to deliver a couple of news from the Blog and the Institute…

We’ve added two new tools to Counselling Connection. The ‘Related Posts’ widget searches posts based on a keyword system and links them to other related posts according to keyword combinations. It’s a great little tool to assist readers in finding related content for research, reference or simply interest.

The ‘Blog Rush’ widget (image below) is a newly-developed tool to connect a variety of Blogs that share the same interest and topic areas. The widget shows RSS feeds from other Blogs – articles, news, related posts, and more. The selected content is still being worked on by the Blog Rush Team, but this widget promises to be a great interactive tool for both Bloggers and Blog readers.

Our third eBook is being developed and will evolve around a range of ‘real’ counselling situations. We can’t give much information away otherwise we’ll spoil the surprise – but it will be a unique and very useful resource for many counsellors and mental health professionals. Stay in touch for further updates!

Dr. Gareth Furber from PsychSplash has launched a new project called Psych Antenna (image below). The newly-developed portal provides a collection of RSS feeds to some of the most comprehensive psychology and mental health portals, websites and blogs in the world. This project has a lot of potential – and it is definitely worth checking out. Counselling Connection has been listed, along with the AIPC Article Library (both RSS-compliant resources).

Edition 62 of the Institute Inbrief eZine will be launched tonight with a featured article on the Person-Centred therapeutic approach. If you are not fully familiar with this approach, the publication provides a great overview, along with some practical applications, examples and small cases involving one the four mainstream therapies of counselling.

Finally, this year’s third edition of the Professional Counsellor Journal almost finished. This edition focuses on “Family Therapy” and it includes a collection of great articles, including a comprehensive contribution from professors Tom Strong and Karl Tomm (University of Calgary, Canada).

That’s all for the moment – make sure you keep posting comments and participating in our discussions. I will see you soon.

Editor.
