The means being a mode of transport, money and a place to go that is safe. If they go to family then they also put the family at risk. Financially if the spouse has forced the victim to be co sign on all bank accounts and bills then the victim has to be able to prove they are not recieving any income to recieve financial assistance. (If they are not in the work force and are untrained) If the victim lives in a country town there is actually not alot of support for them and each person has to work out the best way of surviving for themselves.(This is from a survivor) victims also stay in a relationship because they do not have the means to leave.
