Kathleen Casagrande
Because Kathleen Casagrande devoted many years of her life to the raising of five successful children, the opportunity for counselling was not apparent until they had all left home.
After studying for one year with the Counselling College of Australia, Kathleen worked as a volunteer telephone counsellor with Drug Arm. She was then employed with Drug Arm of Australia as a Project Officer for a program called HART (Home Assessment Response Team) where she worked with individuals and also their significant others who were affected by substance misuse challenges.
She achieved her Diploma of Professional Counselling through the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors majoring in Relationships and Conflict Resolution. Because she was training volunteers while working at Drug Arm she also achieved her Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
Soon after the program ended Kathleen started a private practice, Esteem Consulting, working with drug education and prisoners within days of their leaving the confines of Community Corrections. Some of her private clients needs led her into an entirely different field of counselling within the Real Estate Industry.
After 12 months of working within the Real Estate Industry, Kathleen decided to return to her original passion of counselling. She is now employed with the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors as an Education Advisor and her role includes: Assignment Marking, Study Assistance Calls and Responding to Email and Knowledge Base questions.
On a personal note, Kathleen enjoys the company of good friends at restaurants, movies or the beach and, especially, family time. Special interests are reading and yoga. Meditation is a good balance to her sometimes busy schedule. She looks forward to working with you and offering feedback which she draws from years of living life to the maximum.
